Isn't it crazy how we are expected to know what we want to do with the rest of our lives by the time we are 18 (maybe even sooner)? I am 21 now, and I have even less of an understanding of what I want from life than I did then. This could be because I am the queen of indecision, but trying to decide a path for yourself is a big deal. I don't understand how people go through life knowing what they want to do and where they want to go at any given point. It is okay to feel this way, though!

Many people struggle to find their path, especially in this stage of life. Do I want to be a teacher, musician, philosopher, or a dentist? Do I want to work and take a break from worrying about school? Do I not want to go to school at all? These are questions everyone asks at some point. It is overwhelming that going to school for four years can decide what you do with the rest of your life. It is also scary trying to decide if school is the right path for you. The best advice I can give is to take one step at a time. Thinking about where you want to be in the future is scary, but where do you want to be tomorrow? What do you want to work on to slowly achieve a goal of deciding what you want to do with the rest of your life? Everyone has a different, beautiful path that they walk, but that doesn't mean you have to know what it is or where it leads at every step. It is okay to be lost for a while, just remember to keep moving forward. In the end, everyone figures out where to go. It is just a matter of not giving up, taking a step forward, and seeing where life leads you. You can do this!
